Open Play

3x a day - 3 hr session

A free, loosely structured event where players rotate in and out of games.

  • Court Booking: Assign up to 8 players per court.
  • Rotation System: Use paddle racks and clear signage to guide player rotation.
  • Wristbands: Color-coded for easy monitoring of participants.
  • Court Monitors: Assist with flow and ensure fair play during peak times.
  • Challenge Courts: Designated courts for competitive play.

Open Play Rules

#1 Wrist Bands Required:  All players must wear band issued by front desk. No exceptions

#2 Keep the Game Rules:  Play 1 game to 11, win by 1. No score extensions or resets. No game modifications.

#3 Use the Paddle System: Players waiting must plcae their paddle into rack they want to mix in. Only one paddle allowed. Do not move or touch other’s paddles

#4 Respect the Rotation: Next 4 paddles get the next available court. If players wish to play with a specific group they must take secondary position.

#5 Share the Challenge Courts:  Challenge court has its own rack, same rules apply. Winning team stays on until they have won 3 in a row.

#6 Report Abuses: Notify front desk with text.

Organized Play

Competitive - Structured - Social

Structured, skill-controlled events for competitive and social play.

  • Paid Entry: Discounted for members, standard pricing for visitors.
  • Skill Level Control: Verified and unverified divisions ensure fair competition.
  • Non-Stop Action: 2-hour sessions with 4 players per court—no waiting for a court.

Round Robins

Managed via the SWISH app. Rotate partners each timed round. 4 players per court. No waiting!

Paddle Battle

Also called King’s Court or Ladder Play—winners move up, losers move down & split.

Leagues

Traditional men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles leagues with a 6-8 week commitment.

Social Events

Play combined with food, drinks, and gatherings to build community. Example: Dinks & Drinks

Building Your Schedule

There are a few variables to consider as your demand grows: Skill Level, Gender, Age and Verified vs Unverified Events.

  • Start Simple – Begin with broad, skill-level-based events to attract a wide range of players.
  • Expand Strategically – Once events start filling, introduce more specific formats (e.g., verified/unverified, gender, or age).
  • Prioritize Demand – Offer the most sessions for your largest skill group to maximize participation.
  • Schedule Smart – Balance morning and evening events to accommodate different player demographics.

Ambassadors

Ambassadors create a welcoming and well-run event experience!

  • Player-Led Recruitment: Players respond better to invites from other players rather than the club.
  • Ambassador Perks: Plays for free and earns club credit if the event reaches capacity.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Recruit players and promote the event.
    • Manage rotations and ensure smooth gameplay.
    • Foster a fun and inclusive atmosphere.

A strong ambassador program keeps events full and players engaged!

Training Academy

Adult & Youth Classes, Clinics and Camps

The Academy adds value by making your club the one-stop shop for pickleball—play, learn, and improve! Offering structured training keeps players engaged and progressing while driving membership retention.

Maximize court usage by scheduling training during off-peak hours and strategically placing Academy events right before organized play of the same skill level. This creates a seamless transition from learning to playing, boosting participation in both.

Building Your Academy

  • Strong Intro to Pickleball – Attract new players and ensure their first experience is fun and welcoming.
  • Progressive Curriculum – Guide players through a clear skill pathway, keeping them engaged and in your academy.
  • Unified Coaching Staff – Consistent coaching methods create value, quality instruction, and a strong team environment.
  • Knowing Your Target Market – Intro to 3.5 is the core audience, with a drop-off at 4.0—tailor offerings accordingly.

Intro to Pickleball

  • The Coach is Key – Assign your most energetic, friendly, and sales-savvy coach to create a great first impression.
  • The first experience matters—make it fun, welcoming, and engaging!
  • Follow-Up Matters – Offer coach-guided beginner play to keep new players engaged and comfortable.
  • Next Steps – Transition them into beginner classes and beginner organized play to keep them learning and playing.

Court Rentals

Maximize revenue while keeping courts accessible for all players.

  • Reserve Courts for Rentals – During peak hours, resist the urge to fill every court with organized play—private rentals are in high demand.
  • Use Waitlists Wisely – Keep waitlists for organized play events, and if rental courts go unused, open them up for additional play.
  • Flexibility is Key – Monitor demand and adjust court allocations to keep players engaged and maximize court usage.
